Inderpreet Kaur is a well-known personality who is the ex-wife of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Bhagwant Mann is a comedian, actor, and politician who is the current Chief Minister of Punjab and a member of the Aam Aadmi Party. Inderpreet Kaur is Bhagwant Mann’s ex-wife, whom she assisted in winning the Lok Sabha elections in Sangrur in 2014.  It was Inderpreet Kaur’s efforts that ensured Bhagwant Mann’s victory in the elections.

The divorce of Bhagwant Mann and Inderpreet Kaur in 2015 was a shocking news. As per media reports and court proceedings, both of them mutually decided to go for a divorce. Bhagwant Mann revealed that his wife wanted him to quit politics and settle abroad with their family, which he did not agree to.  He said the people of Punjab had chosen him, and that he would leave his family for the sake of the people, referring to Punjab as his new family, who had shown great faith in him.

Inderpreet Kaur campaigned hard for Bhagwant Mann in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, delivering powerful speeches that helped him win from Sangrur. At one point, it was also believed that if Inderpreet Kaur was given a ticket, she would have won the election. Following her divorce from Bhagwant Mann, she stays with her two children, a son named Dilshaan Mann and a daughter named Seerat Kaur Mann. They both reside in California, USA, and according to information, both children are studying. Dilshaan and Seerat were both present at Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s oath-taking ceremony, and they answered a media person that they are extremely happy about their father’s victory and have faith that he will work to eliminate unemployment in Punjab.

2022 Legislative election

Bhagwant Mann was chosen as the AAP’s candidate for Chief Minister of Punjab in the 2022 Legislative elections. In February 2022, a person from Nabha filed a complaint with the Election Commission officer that Bhagwant Mann had provided incorrect information in the marital status column of his form. He had filled ‘non-applicable’ instead of married, which is incorrect information. His divorce is not complete because he did not attend the second hearing, so the returning officer stated that no action could be taken since Bhagwant Mann does not have any criminal record. Therefore, it was not necessary to investigate his marital status.
